They definitely look and probably are the same! Very interesting... It suits the daughter in law better.

ReplyDeleteSimilar, but not exactly alike. I must say that one gown echoes the other, much as I my suit echoes a co-worker's, but is not made by the same seamstress.

ReplyDeleteThe only difference I can see is explainable by the fact that the portraits show the gown in a different light and are by different artists. I never thought of either of these ladies as economical, so perhaps the dress was a favorite and Marie gave it to her daughter-in-law because she couldn't fit into it any more?
