An ode to Marie Antoinette

I came across this Christmas tree that is called "An Ode to Marie Antoinette".  The tree is one featured at The Fall River Historical Society in Massachusetts, and can be seen covered in beads, feathers, satin ribbons and pearly ornaments.

  2. It looks wonderful. Are there any close up photos? I'd love to see some of the details.

  3. It could be nice in person, but on the photo it is far too busy for me. One cannot actually see the tree, just a big mass of something. I second the question: Are there some close-ups?

  5. I think it's pretty but a little messy though. I understand the the ostentation concept behind but I agree with Georgiana when she refers to this tree as a "big mass of something".

  6. @Rachel & @Georgiana I do not have any close up images of this tree, if I find some I will post them. I think it is the white feathers that make everything a blur - and yes, lots going on :)

  7. It almost looks like a huge Marie Antoinette wig. It's wonderful. Just needs an enormous ostrich feather to one side to finish it off.

  8. Did anyone notice the figure of Marie Antoinette at the top of the tree? I JUST noticed this myself?

  9. I do a Marie Antoinette tree also that features things she may have enjoyed--masks, pearls, carriages, check it out on my blog if you like.
